Reboot Van, Reboot Cards, downtime NEWS

When one of your teammates gets eliminated in duo or squad matches, they'll drop a Reboot Card along with all their loot.

However, an audio cue and giant light beam will be emitted from the Fortnite Reboot Van that you are using in order to alert enemy players in the surrounding area that a respawn is now taking place.

Friday, April 5th saw Epic Games release a Battle Royale developer (dev) update video on the official Fortnite YouTube channel where details of the previously leaked Respawn Van were officially announced.

While Fortnite may be an unstoppable juggernaut that continues to signal the cultural end times of our species, gamers looking for an alternative Battle Royale experience have found sanctuary in Apex Legends. Once these Reboots are activated (you can bring back multiple players at a time) the Van will go offline for a short duration.

The video doesn't mention explicitly if your teammates need to find a reboot card beforehand and carry them in their item inventory.

Hints about the Reboot Van were first spotted by dataminers back in March. What's more, the van makes a noise and projects a beacon into the sky that lets nearby enemies know a reboot is in progress. Sound familiar? It should because it's pretty much a carbon copy of Apex Legends' system. Now, Apex Legends has some new features to offer and it seems Fortnite wants a slice of the pie. At the very least, it would appear Reboot Vans have been in the works at Epic since shortly after the launch of Apex Legends. Vans will be located near major points of interest, Epic says, so that means popular areas like Tilted Towers, Retail Row, etc. "Look for further updates during Season 8", they said. "They really need to do something about this mid to late game intensity".

This changes: If an opponent eliminates one or more members of your team after update 8.30, you can collect a badge from them.
